Cookery Championship
Show a titled display of your choice of five items of baking to impress the judges The items to be displayed within a space 60cm x 65cm with no height restriction. Please note the space available and cook appropriately. Each item to be judged must be labelled. Accessories and display materials should be used to enhance the display. Each item will be marked separately out of ten points and up to ten points will be awarded for presentation and interpretation of the wording of the class.
The LAKELAND TROPHY will be awarded to the winner of this class.

Afternoon Tea has become 'the way' to celebrate special occasions. How would you celebrate? Try your hand at preparing a selection of your choice of cakes to be enjoyed for afternoon tea – displayed on a ttiered cake stand of not more than 30cm in diameter.
The MR MILES TEA ROOM TROPHY will be awarded to the winner of this class.

A Special Occasion cake that will stand within a 10in/25cm diameter circle. Let your imagination go 'wild' and 'wow' the Judges! Please label appropriately so that the Judges can know the occasion for which this cake might be baked. Please display this cake on a non-breakable plate or board and cover with cling wrap or a non-breakable cake dome.

A Victoria Sponge sandwich using 3 hens eggs, raspberry jam filling and caster sugar dusting, and using a sponge tin no larger than 8in or 20cm in diameter.

A Somerset Apple Cake.

Five plain scones

Six named savoury biscuits.

A lemon tart with sweet pastry.

Focaccia Bread with rosemary and sea salt.

Six iced biscuits with the theme 'By the Sea’.

Chocolate Swiss Roll with buttercream filling.

How do you preserve nature's harvest to enjoy throughout the year? Display 3 jars of preserves to show how you can keep a variety of produce to be enjoyed through to the next harvest. These items to be displayed within a space 60cm x 65cm. Each preserve must be suitably labelled. Each item will be marked separately out of ten points and up to ten points may be awarded for presentation and interpretation of the wording of the class..

Lemon curd using 150ml freshly squeezed lemon juice, 110g unsalted butter, 350g granulated sugar and 150ml beaten fresh egg.

This is an opportunity to show all your ability in original textile and non-textile art and craft skills together. Display five items of work demonstrating your skill in at least three different disciplines, all to be the work of the same exhibitor, and to be displayed in a table top space 135cm x 65cm with no height restriction.
Accessories may be used to enhance the display, but the items to be judged must be listed or individually titled. Each item of work will be marked separately out of ten points and up to ten points may be awarded for presentation of the whole exhibit.

Father's Day Card using sewing techniques. To be displayed in a transparent cover, which must be removable for judging, on a stand supplied by the exhibitor. Kits may be used in this class.

A handmade christmas present in any medium. Maximum size 30cm in any dimension. Will be displayed on a flat table, please supply your own stand if required.

A small item or decoration made from willow no bigger than 20x20cm.

A display, made by at least two members of a WI, on the theme of a day at the races. The display should contain two items of baking, one jar of preserves and two craft items to interpret the title. It will be displayed in a table top space 135cm x 65cm with no height restriction. Accessories may be used to enhance the display and interpretation.
