SEIB Search For a Star and Racehorse to Riding Horse Qualifier - TSR Championships, Stoneleigh

122cm to under 148cms. Ponies 5 years and over. Riders 12 years or over on day of the HOYS Championship. Riders will be asked to give a short show and jump two fences at 2ft and 2ft 3in. The required show will be published on the website so competitors will have time to practice. Adults and children may enter and ride ponies in this class as long as their weight and size is appropriate, decisions of the judge is final on the suitability of pony and rider. Unsuitable combinations will be eliminated. Class judged on 50% conformation, temperament, type and manners and 50% performance. Judges will ensure that conformation and temperament allows the pony to be a competent all round performer, capable of doing most work including jumping and dressage. Harmony of pony and rider will be taken into account. Jumping style and approach is important. The judges will not ride. Snaffle bridles will not be penalised, but the same bridle must be worn throughout and no gags are allowed and martingales are optional. 1st will qualify at Judge's discretion. Rosettes to 6th place. Tweed or show jackets.

Exceeding 153cms. 5 years and over. Riders 15 years or over on day of the HOYS Championship. Class will not be divided into different weights.
Tweed jacket should be worn.

Hacks Exceeding 148cms but not exceeding 160cms, Riding Horse exceeding 148cms, 5 years or over. Riders 15 years or over on the day of the HOYS Championship.
Riding horse - tweed jacket, Hack - show jacket.
The best of type will win.

1st and 2nd qualify at judges discretion.
At HOYS Championship rosettes will be awarded to both a Riding Horse and a Hack (subject to horses forward to Horse of the Year Show) and they will both qualify for the final Championship at the judge's discretion.

Show & maxi cobs, best of type will win. Maxi cobs should be true to type and all cobs should be hogged. Riders 15 years or over on the day of the HOYS Championship and horses 5 years or over.
Tweed jacket.

The SEIB Racehorse To Riding Horse Championship is a series for thoroughbreds that have raced in either point to point, flat or national hunt racing.
The competition is open to amateurs and professionals. The format of judging will be as for a riding horse class but the best of type will win.
Horses must be over 4 years old and 148cms or over. Riders must be 15 years old and over on the date of the HOYS Championship. The first two horses will go forward to Horse of the Year Show at Judges discretion.
Rosettes for all, placed down to 6th.

Horses 5 years or over. No Stallions. Open to horses and ponies registered as a traditional gypsy cob within the TGCA stud book. Part-breds are not eligible.
Riders 12 years and over on the day of the HOYS Championship.

Traditionals will be asked to perform an individual show. They will not be ridden by the judge or the judge's representative.

Open to any horse or pony 16 years of age or over. Riders 10 years of age or over on the date of the YHL Championships. No restrictions other than age of horse, pony or rider. Will be asked to extend and must be able to canter together as one class.
Judge will not ride and competitor will be expected to give a short show. Horses may be ridden side saddle.
1st and 2nd placed will qualify at judges discretion.

Only open to members of the Pony Club aged 10 and under but over 5 on the date of the YHL Championship. Pony must be over 4 years old.
Riders, owners and handlers must meet the SFAS amateur criteria. Pony must be 128cm or under and meet the Search for a star Amateur criteria Snaffle bridles only.
Lead rein must be attached to the noseband not the bit and the child should be able to rise to the trot. Judged on conformation, way of going and temperament to be able to take part in Pony Club activities with a young child, pony will not be stripped but will give a show. Lungeing will be allowed if the venue permits, but the pony must only be ridden by the competitor. Handlers of the lead rein pony should be suitably dressed with a hat and suitable footwear, ponies to be plaited unless they are registered mountain and moorland, traditional or native types. Horses and ponies that have been placed in the Pretty Polly Championships at RIHS are eligible to compete in the Pony Club Search for a Star Classes. Ponies that have been placed in the Pretty Polly Championships at RIHS are eligible to compete in the Pony Club Search for a Star classes.

The class will be judged on conformation, way of going and temperament. The horse or pony will not be ridden by the judge but the competitor will be asked to give a set show. Open to any type of horse or pony that is athletic enough to be an all-rounder but correct enough to be a show horse. Horses and ponies that have been placed in the Pretty Polly Championship at RIHS are eligible to compete in the Pony Club Search for a Star classes.

Horses or ponies that have been placed in the SSDL Championship at RIHS are eligible to compete in the Veteran in-hand Search for a Star Class.

Open to any heavy draught horse, must be purebred registered in their relevant breed stud book.
Handler must be 14 years of age or over on date of the YHL Championship. The horse must be 4 years or over, to be exhibited in a bridle with a bit. No halters will be accepted.
Correct turnout for a heavy horse is expected. Presentation for breed standard in the show ring. Handlers to be dressed appropriately.
Suggested clothing; tweed jacket, shirt and tie, smart trousers, appropriate footwear, no trainers.
Hard hat compulsory for handler and groom if in the ring

This class is only being held at the Stoneleigh Venue.
PLEASE NOTE - Passports will be checked as they are for SFAS and the ownership details in the passport must match the class entry details and those that qualify must produce the passport to the SFAS secretary on the day before they leave the showground.
