IMPORTANT NOTICES TO HORSE EXHIBITORS

Stabling
Stabling contractors - Cheval Starbox Ltd.
Exhibitors requiring Horse Stabling must notify their requirements AT THE TIME OF ENTRY.
Stabling will only be available on the night before / day of showing. All exhibitors must vacate stables by 6.00pm unless they have reserved the stable for other nights.
Please note that stables are NON-TRANSFERABLE.
Any exhibitor may book stabling if desired and pay £44.00 per stable, per night, to include straw. The proviso is that if stables are oversubscribed the Association reserves the right to restrict the booking of stables for those exhibitors only showing on one day. The horse stables are available for the following times, bookings for Wednesday night, stables are available from 8am on the Wednesday until 6pm on the Thursday. For Thursday night bookings, stables are available from 6pm on the Thursday until 6pm on the Friday. For Friday night bookings, stables are available from 6pm on the Friday until classes have finished on the Saturday.

Equine Passports
It is the responsibility of the Exhibitors to bring their Horse Passports with them to the Show. Random spot checks are likely to be undertaken by enforcing agencies and if Veterinary medical treatment may be required.

Exhibitors’ attention is drawn to Rule 9 of the Bye-Laws and Regulations and the amended wording reference ‘Suitably Mounted’.

Horse Lorry Arrivals
All horse exhibitors, except those who have been provided with an inside parking pass are to arrive through the overflow horse lorry entrance, from there you will be parked accordingly. With limited inside parking space we cannot guarantee parking inside of the showground.

Caravans
Exhibitors bringing their caravan to the Show must place it in the Livestock Caravan Park at a fee of £60.00 for the week. Applications for passes should be made to the Equine Team. For the safety and security of all Exhibitors and their animals NO tents and/or gazebos are permitted within the Horse Lorry parking areas.

Passes
The following passes will be allocated to all horse exhibitors, any additional passes required must be purchased alongside your entries, and tickets will be sent out together with your entry information.
One entry: 2 x One Day Tickets
Two or more entries: One additional Day Ticket for each extra entry

The judging of any class may be advanced by 15 minutes ahead of the time shown in the programme.




Qualifier and Day Ticket Information

Agria Royal International Horse Show Qualifying, 22 – 27 July 2025
The following classes are qualifiers for the Royal International Horse Show: 4 - 8, 10, 15 - 21,
169 & 171. Competitors qualifying at this show for the Agria Royal International Horse Show must submit their entries ONLINE at: hickstead.co.uk/entries-results-schooling/the-agria-royal-international-horse-show/

Horse of the Year Show Qualifying
Class 9 is a qualifying event for this year’s Horse of the Year Show, NEC Birmingham 8 - 12 October 2025. The first prize winner will qualify to compete at the final. If already qualified the second will qualify, if the first and second are already qualified then the third will go forward. No Horse lower than third place will qualify. Qualification will be verified by the Horse of the Year Show Office.
Class 9 will be run in accordance with the general notes set out in the Horse of the Year Show Rule Book, a copy of which can be downloaded from hoys.co.uk. Included in the entry fee is an £18 contribution to Horse of the Year Show.

Irish Draught Horse Society (GB)
This show is affiliated to the Irish Draught Horse Society (GB) therefore horses entering classes 4-10, 15, 16, 19 – 21, 22-24 and 45 are only eligible to qualify for the National Championship show, which is taking place at Onley Equestrian Centre on 6th and 7th September 2025, if they meet the following eligibility criteria:-
• All horses must be registered with or overstamped by the IDHS (GB) and in the correct Ownership
• NEW: Owners of Pure Bred Irish Draughts and Irish Draught Part-Bred / Sport Horses) must now be full members of the IDHS (GB) to compete
• Irish Draught Part-Bred / Sports Horses must have a minimum of 25% proven Irish Draught breeding
• Stallions must display a red, white and blue ribbon in their tails and be shown by experienced rider/handlers over 18 years of age
• Ridden horses must be 153cm (15hh) or over.
For Classes 22 – 24 & 45, the following criteria also applies:-
• MARES with foals at foot, 3 years and over must be inspected and classified as Class 1 (or RID), Class 2 or Supplementary Grade Up (or AID)
• Pure Bred ID and ID Part-Bred, 3 year old colts must be un-inspected
• All 1, 2 & 3 year old colts must be bitted and shown by experienced handlers over 18 years of age
• All Pure Bred youngstock (Yearling, 2 and 3 year olds) must be the progeny of a Graded Mare (Class 1, Class 2, RID (GB), AID or Supplementary Grade Up Register) and be by a Class 1, 2 or RID (GB) stallion on the Irish Draught Breed Register.

All qualifiers will be contacted by a member of the IDHS (GB) Show Affiliation Team to invite them to the final.

Irish Draught Horse Society (GB) £2,000 Ridden Challenge
The following classes are qualifiers for the Irish Draught Horse Society (GB) £2,000 Ridden Challenge: 4 - 10, 15, 16, 19 - 21.
The highest placed horse (not already qualified) from the above mentioned classes will qualify for the final of the IDHS (GB) £2,000 Ridden Challenge which will be held at the IDHS (GB) National Championship Show on 6 & 7 September 2025 at Onley Equestrian Centre, Onley Grounds Farm, Willoughby, Rugby, Warwickshire, CV23 8AJ. A horse may only qualify for the final once, regardless of the type or number of classes won, placed in or entered.
In the Final, the Champion will be awarded £1,000 prize money, and a trophy, the Reserve Champion will be awarded £500, and 3rd to 7th inclusive will be awarded £100 each. In addition, the highest placed Pure-Bred Irish Draught will receive a trophy and £100, and the highest placed Sport Horse will receive a trophy and £50.

The Irish Draught Owners & Breeders Group Youngstock Challenge and IDHS (GB) Sport Horse Youngstock Challenge
This show is a Qualifier for both the Irish Draught Owners & Breeders Group Youngstock Challenge and the IDHS (GB) Sport Horse Youngstock Challenge. The two highest placed pure and part-bred horses from each age group that have not already qualified in Classes 22 – 24 & 45, will qualify to go forward to the final, which will be held at the IDHS (GB) National Championship Show on 6 & 7 September 2025 at Onley Equestrian Centre, Onley Grounds Farm, Willoughby, Rugby, Warwickshire CV23 8AJ.

SHB (GB) Day Tickets
If you are not a member of SHB (GB) then a SHB (GB) Day Ticket is required to compete at this Show at a cost of £42 in the following SHB (GB) classes: 1 & 4 – 8 (the Day Ticket entitles competitors to compete at a maximum of 2 shows in the year at £42 per show, it covers owner and rider SHB (GB) membership together with horse registration for that show). If the class is a qualifying class for RIHS, in order for the qualification to be valid, application for full owner/rider SHB (GB) membership and horse registration must be received in the SHB (GB) office within 14 days.

BSHA Day Tickets
If you are not a member of the BSHA then a BSHA Day Ticket is required to compete in the following BSHA classes: 10, 31 - 34 & 50 - 53.
Competitors and Horses need to be registered or have temporary BSHA membership with a Day Ticket. Horses registered with the Association must be Owned, Exhibited and Ridden by current BSHA Members. Riders must be 15 years of age or older. Registration numbers must be quoted on entry form. DAY TICKETS: BSHA Non-Members may purchase up to a maximum of 2 Day Tickets per Exhibitor, per horse, per season. A Day Ticket will not allow entry into RIHS or HOYS qualifying classes (they are permitted for Working Show Horse RIHS qualifiers, but appropriate BSHA membership and horse registration must be applied for within 14 days of the qualifier in order to confirm registration). Horses registered on a Day Ticket do not require a JMB height Certificate. Competitors can apply for a Day Ticket via the BSHA website.

Hunter Brood Mares Premium Awards
Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain offers one Premium in the following classes: 25 & 27.
The Society offers Brood Mare Premiums at selected affiliated shows, but premiums will only be awarded if there are a minimum of three mares forward per class. The premium takes the form of a Service Voucher, the value of which is to be determined from time to time by the Society, awarded at the Judge’s discretion to their selection from the monetary prize winners, to be used towards the cost of covering the mare by any SHB (GB) Graded Stallion or Life Approved Premium Stallion that is properly registered for the year of covering. The Service Voucher may be used in either of the two years following the year of that award. The owner must be, or become, a fully paid-up member of SHB(GB) to be eligible for the award. No mare shall take more than one award per year.

The Langaller Farm Brood Mare Premium Award
Entries within the following classes are eligible for this award: 25, 27, 32, 37 & 42.
This takes the form of a rosette and a voucher worth £75 to be awarded to the highest placed Brood Mare in the above mentioned classes and is redeemable against any stud fee for a stallion standing at Langaller Farm during the current or following stud season. Only one award per mare per season. Where the winning mare has already won a voucher in the current year the award goes to the next highest placed eligible mare. The Queen Elizabeth II Perpetual Challenge Cup for the Best Light Horse in the Show - this will be judged on the First Day at 2.00pm in Ring Two.
Horses to qualify are: Champion of Classes 1 - 3, Champion Ridden Hunter, Winner of Ladies Hunter, Champion Riding Horse, Champion Ridden Hack, Champion Ridden Cob, Winner of Maxi Cob, Champion Hunter Brood Mare & Youngstock, Champion Small Hunter Brood Mare & Youngstock, Champion Riding Horse Brood Mare & Youngstock and Champion Sport Horse Brood Mare & Youngstock.

The Price Family Supreme In-Hand Championship & Royal Cornwall In-Hand Championship - judged on the Second Day at 1.30pm in Ring Two.
Champion Hunter Brood Mare & Youngstock, Champion Small Hunter Brood Mare & Youngstock, Champion Riding Horse Brood Mare & Youngstock and Champion Sport Horse Brood Mare & Youngstock must remain until the Second Day if they wish to compete for the The Price Family Supreme In-Hand Championship & Royal Cornwall In-Hand Championship. Stabling will be found for those who have to stay on payment of £44.00 per stable to include straw.

Rosettes
Rosettes will be awarded in all classes from 1st to 5th place, in addition, a 6th prize rosette will be awarded in classes with at least 10 entries forward on the day. Please note that this does not affect the cash prizes as listed.
