Notes to Sheep Exhibitors
1. You must have read and agreed to adhere to the terms set out in the Livestock Conditions and Regulations 2026 document.
2. Due to declining numbers we are no longer able to accommodate MV Accredited Sheep.
3. No dogs allowed in the Society building.
4. Smoking is not permitted in the Society building for safety reasons.
5. Please note the Newbury & District Agricultural Society is not a central point recording centre (CPRC). You will therefore be required to list all the individual tag numbers of the entries attending the Show on your movement license.
6. Every animal entered in breed classes must be entered in, or certified as eligible, or accepted for entry in the flock book of its breed. Where the animal is entered by the exhibitor as eligible or accepted for entry in the flock book, proof of such eligibility or acceptance must be furnished to the secretary, if required.
7. Docking: you are reminded that the welfare of Livestock (prohibition operations) reg. 1982 requires that sheep must have sufficient tail retained to cover the vulva of the female sheep and the anus of male sheep. In the event of a formal complaint being received for infringement of this requirement the matter will be referred to the Society vet.
8. Border Leicester Sheep to be entered in Longwool classes but may be move to Short Wool dependent upon numbers entered in each section.
Movements, Entry & Exit times
9. Please bring copies of movement licenses to the Show for arrival & departure to hand to the stewards.
10. Please ensure you have read sections J & K of the Terms and Conditions alongside the below.

Strictly no vehicle movement on Sun 20 Sep until ALL animals have returned from the Grand Parade.
NO vehicles are to enter the livestock building.
Failure to abide by these rules may lead to your entry being rejected in the future.

Fees

Pen fee: £10 (Maximum of 6 pens per exhibitor due to limited space)
Tickets, Vehicle Passes and Wristbands
2-day Livestock tickets will be allocated on the following basis, please choose the option on the entry form if more are required.
• Up to 4 animals entered 4 tickets
• 5+ animals entered 6 tickets
Extra 2-day Livestock wristband/ticket £20 each
• 2 vehicle passes per entry
Extra vehicle passes £10 each
• You can request up to 4 child tickets, free of charge, through Showing Scene when submitting entries.
• Tickets will be issued to the Showing Scene user and not the exhibitor. Please ensure the tickets are forwarded to exhibitors as necessary.
• Wristbands will be available in your exhibitor pack which can be collected from the Chief Steward. Lost wristbands will not be replaced. If your band is broken please return it to the stewards and they will issue a replacement.

1st - £22, 2nd - £15, 3rd – £10

Section Champion: Champion £15 Reserve Champion £8
Supreme Champion: Champion £70 Reserve Champion £30
Rosettes to 6th place
All prize money will be paid by cash, collected at the cash point on the Showground, or return your completed prize money vouchers to the Show Office by 31st October 2026 with bank details to be paid direct to your bank.
