OPEN ART EXHIBITION
The New Forest Agricultural Show Society are pleased to invite artists, both amateur and professional to exhibit and sell some of their work in our very popular marquee at the New Forest & Hampshire County Show 2025.
IMPORTANT DATES:
Sunday 27th July 2025 10am to 12pm Hand in / Admission of Artworks (Please note works will not be accepted after this time)
Exhibition 29th, 30th and 31st July 2025
Friday 1st August 2025 10am to 12pm Artists to collect works
TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. Quality of Work and Presentation
All work supplied must be of saleable quality. Poor work will not be accepted. All exhibitors must be aware that they are responsible for their work. The Committee reserves the right to decide which pieces will be exhibited and any
works requiring repairs will not be hung.
Cards should be placed in cellophane, showing the name of the artist and price. These can be originals or photos / prints of originals. All priced at £2.50 for a single card.
Portfolio work should have clean and tidy mounts. Paintings on board, which are not mounted are acceptable. A firm backing should support all work, which should be securely covered in cellophane and clearly labelled.
Paintings, it is desirable to have work professionally framed. If framing yourself, please ensure that mounts are clean and well cut and glass is free from dust. Frames must be clean and well-constructed (metal, photo, plastic and clip
frames are not acceptable) the reverse of glazed frame must be neatly sealed with picture framing tape over the frame and backing board. D rings must be placed one third from the top of the frame with taut cord securely attached.
(Eyelet rings or other frame attachments, wire is not acceptable).
The Society will not display pictures or paintings that do not have the correct fixings for hanging (D Rings and Cord).
2. Setting Up
The art works will be placed by the committee.
3. Insurance
The New Forest Agricultural Show Society does not provide insurance for any works exhibited at the Show, however excellent security services will be in place during the show. The committee cannot take responsibility for any
damage or loss however caused. Individual members who are anxious about this are advised to make their own insurance arrangements.
4. Maximum Number and Type of Artwork
You may submit – greeting cards, browser pieces, works suitable for hanging by purchaser framed with or without glazing, unframed canvas or boards.

5. Labelling of Artworks
Please attach one luggage label with your name, contact details and price this should be tied on the reverse with string, long enough for it to hang over the front (approx. 15cms/6”)
6. Commission
30% Commission will be applied on ALL sales.
7. Entry Fee
A £30 entry fee is payable on completion of your entry form and includes cards and portfolio items.
8. How to Enter

9. Closing date
Entries will close on Friday 11th July or once the maximum of 400 works has been achieved. The society can only accept pictures or paintings no larger than 24” x 20” and with a value between £75 and £1000 and in the case of 3D
less than 36” in height.
10. Publicity
All work exhibited may be photographed for publicity purposes.
IMPORTANT - COPYRIGHT
Derivative work that is an infringement of another artists intellectual property, is an exact or manipulated copy of an artistic image (photography, painting, drawing, sculpture) downloaded from the Internet or a work copied from book or periodical cannot be exhibited in The Hampshire and New Forest Show Art Pavilion. If you are not the rights-owner or rights-holder and do not have permission to reproduce the image you may be in breach of intellectual property under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act of 1988.

VOLUNTEERING:
As in previous years, we would be very grateful to receive assistance with the following roles within the Art Pavilion for the duration of the Show:
• Watchers / Minglers
• Fire Exit minders
• Sales desk assistants
We are also eager for demonstrators for painting, pottery or any other related craft for within the marquee and we look forward to hearing from you.
