Shires & Heavy Horses

◼ Open to pure bred registered shire horses; mares or geldings
◼ 4 years old and over
◼ To be shown together in hand
◼ Judged on matching quality, movement & conformity as a pair

◼ Entry includes a £20 Horse of the Year Show contribution
◼ Owners, Handlers and Exhibitors must be members of the Shire Horse Society
◼ Entries accepted only if also entered in Classes 1, 2, 3, 5 & 6
◼ Qualification will not pass below 5th place
◼ Horses must be entered in their registered name and ownership
◼ Horses must be traditionally turned out with flights
◼ Docks must be covered with a fan of hair (per Society rules)
◼ Turning of coats is not permitted
◼ Horses may be subject to farrier & veterinary foot inspection at qualifiers & the final
◼ Must be correctly shod to Society standards
◼ Unshod horses are not permitted
◼ Part-bred horses and Grade A, B or C entries are not eligible
◼ Geldings must be in the Non-Breeding Register
◼ All horses must be pure bred with registered parentage

◼ No stallions & no animals under two years of age to be led
◼ All exhibitors to be between 12 and 18 years of age (inclusive) on day of show
◼ Rosettes 1st to 6th & then specials for each exhibitor
