Private Driving, Exercise Vehicles and Concours D'Elegance
This show is affiliated to the British Driving Society. Classes are open to BDS and Non BDS Members but otherwise conducted in accordance with BDS guidelines. All horses/ponies entered into these classes must be four years old and over.
This is a Victoria Extravaganza Carriage Driving Championship Qualifier. The champion will qualify for the Grand Final to be held on Sunday 13th September 2026 at Bury Farm Equestrian Club, New Bury Farm, Mill Road Slapton, Bucks, LU7 9BT. In the event that the champion has already qualified then the reserve champion to qualify. If the reserve has also qualified, the rosette to be awarded back to the champion. Once qualified, the horse, whip and vehicle may not be changed.
Young driver – Competitors in these classes who are aged 10 – 17 years will be eligible to an additional Young Driver Prize which will be awarded at 1st prize £30 & 2nd prize £20. Young driver competitors must be accompanied by a competent adult whip at all times.
Qualifying for the BDS Iceline Yorkshire Ltd 2026 National Championships: The highest place turnout in the designated type-section in each qualifying class, disregarding those already qualified down to 6th place in the class, will qualify for the 2026 National Driving Championship Semi-Finals at Addington Equestrian Centre on the 5th September as follows:
(c) Private Driving over 13.2hh – Single, Pair or Tandem
(d) Private Driving - 13.2hh and under – Single, Pair or Tandem
(j) Single or Tandem turnout driven to a two-wheel exercise vehicle
(k) Single, Pair or Tandem turnout driven to a four-wheel exercise vehicle
In the event of a show staging a qualifying class that includes a drive in the judging of the class, the drive must be completed for qualification to be awarded. The Judge of the qualifying competition has the right to withhold an award in the qualifier. Turnouts must qualify between the 1st April 2026 and the 31st August 2026 to be eligible for the 2026 Semi-Final. Exhibitors who qualify for the Semi- Final must apply for an entry form from the BDS and make an entry on that form, to arrive before the specified closing date of entries.
