The Horticulture section accepts around 1,000 entries each year split between the following areas of Fruit & Vegetables, Flowers, Floral Art, Bake Off, Handicraft, Children, Photography and Honey.
Classes include tomatoes to heaviest marrow, gladioli and dahlias, tray bakes and disaster class, crochet and cushions, painted stones to homemade pizzas and many, many more. The Children’s section is extremely popular, particularly the miniature gardens for all of the age groups. The children are very imaginative with the designs that they create.
The Horticulture section is run by a dedicated group of volunteers who give up their time to build the marquee in the week running up to show day in preparation for exhibitors to display their entries. We have many entrants who return to the show from year to year and it is always lovely to see a friendly face. Likewise, we welcome new exhibitors and our stewards are always happy to give new exhibitors a helping hand.
