Mother Nature's Bouquet

Sweet joy! The flowers have come!
They've followed the showers.
They've grown with the sun.
They've risen up high.
They've spread their leaves.
They've opened their petals to welcome the bees.
They've brightened the day in their own sweet way.
They've grown to become Mother Nature's bouquet.

I Love Nature

I love the sound of the birds
So early in the morn,
I like the sound of puppies
Soon after they are born.

I love the smell of flowers
And the taste of honey from bees.
I love the sound the wind makes
When its blowing through the trees.

I love the way the sky looks
On a bright and sunny day,
And even when its rainy,
I love the shades of grey.

I love the smell of the ocean,
The sound of waves upon the stand,
I love the feel of sea shells and
How they look in my hand.

And when the sun is gone, I love the
Moon that shines so bright,
I love the sound of crickets and
Other creatures of the night.

So when I lay me down to sleep,
I thank the lord above,
For all the things of nature and more,
All the things I love.

Zest of one lemon
For the drizzle:
Juice of 1 1/2 lemons
85g (3oz) castor sugar

Method: Heat oven to 180C (160C fan, gas mark 4). Grease and line a 2lb loaf tin. Cream the butter and sugar until pale and creamy. Add eggs one at a time, then the flour and lemon zest. Spoon mixture into the tin and level the top. Bake for 45 - 50 minutes until a skewer inserted into the middle comes out clean. To make the drizzle: While the cake is cooling in the tin, mix together the lemon juice and castor sugar.
