Building on our heritage to create a better future.
Founded in 1799 and becoming a registered charity in 1996, the Westmorland County Agricultural Society is dedicated to promoting the understanding and prosperity of agriculture, horticulture, conservation, forestry, rural crafts and allied industry. Our focus is concentrated within a radius of 55 miles of the Society’s base at Lane Farm, Crooklands, Cumbria.
The Society organises Westmorland County Show, held annually on the second Thursday of September. Attracting over 30,000 visitors and with its heart firmly in agriculture, the Show’s livestock sections take the spotlight. Westmorland Show also boasts one of the largest locally produced Food Halls in the North West, as well as a spectacular Women’s Institute Marquee, Rural Crafts, Forestry Arena and over 400 trade stands plus so much more.
The Society’s spring event, County Fest, is held annually in early June, which continues to grow each year. It is a chance for visitors to explore the best of what the countryside has to offer and to discover more about farming, food and the countryside around us.
