Primitive Sheep – open to ewes, rams and wethers of the following breeds Boreray, Castlemilk Moorit, Hebridean, Manx Loaghtan, North Ronaldsay, Shetland and Soay

Rolled Fleece of any breed or cross. All fleeces entered must be securely labelled with the breed and the entrant’s name.

Wool on the Hoof. Best fleece on a ewe, ram or wether of any age. This class will be judged in the ring.

Any lamb or sheep to be led by a handler who at the time of entering has not won a class or rosette at any show. Judging will be on presentation and the ability to handle / show sheep, and not on the conformation etc. of the animal.

Any lamb or sheep to be led by a handler up to 14 years of age. Judging will be on presentation and the ability to handle / show sheep, and not on the conformation etc. of the animal. A Certificate of Merit will be issued to all entrants in this class in addition to rosettes. This class will be broken into two groups (younger and older) if there are sufficient entries.

A lot of us have a favourite ‘lawnmower’, perhaps a wether who was bottle fed and still walks to heel like a dog, or an older ewe who’s retired from lambing but retains a place in the flock and your heart. Whatever the breed, age or sex, this class is open to all. This class will be held in the ring.
