Working Pony

Description:

From 122cm up to and including 148cms. Ponies 5 years and over. Riders 12 years or over on day of the HOYS Championship. Riders will be asked to give a short show and jump two fences at 2ft and 2ft 3in. The required show will be published on the website so competitors will have time to practice. Adults and children may enter and ride ponies in this class as long as their weight and size is appropriate, decisions of the judge is final on the suitability of pony and rider. Unsuitable combinations will be eliminated. Class judged on 50% conformation, temperament, type and manners and 50% performance. Judges will ensure that conformation and temperament allows the pony to be a competent all round performer, capable of doing most work including jumping and dressage. Harmony of pony and rider will be taken into account. Jumping style and approach is important. The judges will not ride. Snaffle bridles will not be penalised, but the same bridle must be worn throughout and no gags are allowed and martingales are optional. 1st will qualify at Judge's discretion. Rosettes to 6th place. Tweed or show jackets.

Description:

Description:

The SEIB Racehorse To Riding Horse Championship is a series for thoroughbreds that have raced in either point to point, flat or national hunt racing.
The competition is open to amateurs and professionals. The format of judging will be as for a riding horse class but the best of type will win.
Horses must be over 4 years old and 148cms or over. Riders must be 15 years old and over on the date of the HOYS Championship. The first two horses will go forward to Horse of the Year Show at Judges discretion.

Class: 10 SEIB Search for a Star Pony Club Ridden Lead Rein

Description:

Only open to members of the Pony Club aged 10 and under but over 5 on the date of the YHL Championship. Pony must be over 4 years old.
Riders, owners and handlers must meet the SFAS amateur criteria. Pony must be 128cm or under and meet the Search for a star Amateur criteria Snaffle bridles only.
Lead rein must be attached to the noseband not the bit and the child should be able to rise to the trot. Judged on conformation, way of going and temperament to be able to take part in Pony Club activities with a young child, pony will not be stripped but will give a show. Lungeing will be allowed if the venue permits, but the pony must only be ridden by the competitor. Handlers of the lead rein pony should be suitably dressed with a hat and suitable footwear, ponies to be plaited unless they are registered mountain and moorland, traditional or native types. Horses and ponies that have been placed in the Pretty Polly Championships at RIHS are eligible to compete in the Pony Club Search for a Star Classes. There will be a set show which will be available on the website shortly.

Description:

Open to members of BRC Affiliated Riding Clubs. Horses, Ponies, Riders and Owners must meet the SFAS amateur criteria. Horses and Ponies may have been to HOYS but only in the SFAS competition.
Horse or pony must be over 4 years old. Riders must be 12 years old on the date of the YHL Championship and capable of cantering with the rest of the class. Competitors may compete side saddle. No jumping. Snaffles, Pelhams and simple double bridles are acceptable, SFAS rider weight restrictions apply. Will be asked to give a short showing will not be ridden by the judge, will be stripped for conformation. Horses and ponies to be plaited unless they are registered mountain and moorland, native or traditional types.
