Please read the rules at the beginning of the horse section. Also:
i. The North Somerset Show is affiliated to the British Show Jumping and all Show Jumping classes will be judged in accordance with British Show Jumping rules.
ii. Full entry fees must be remitted with each entry. Refunds will be made in accordance with rule 79.5.
iii. All entries must include a photocopy of the registration card of the owner, horse and rider.
iv. Entries in classes 300-306 are confined to registered horses to be ridden by members in accordance with rule 79.
v. Rule 82.21: “No member shall allow a stallion for which he/she is responsible as owner, lessee, authorised agent or rider to attend a show, compete or be prepared to compete in any show jumping competition without taking adequate precautions to ensure other horses/ponies, competitors and members of the public are not put at risk of injury.”
vi. When jumping in the Ring, the practice or collecting areas, all Riders must wear protective headgear, according to the current standards as listed below:
All PAS 015; VG1; (BS)EN1384 2017; ASTM F1163 04a onwards; SNELL E2001; SNELL E2016; AS/NZS 3838 2003 onwards; Skullcaps must be of, or worn with, a dark coloured plain peaked cover. Refer to your Society/Association Rule Book for further clarification. Correctly secured Skull Caps/Riding Hats that meet one of the following current Safety Standards/ specifications MUST be worn by all Riders between the ages of 15 to 17 inclusive. All PAS 015; VG1; (BS) EN1384 2017; ASTM F1163 04a onwards; SNELL E2001; SNELL E2016; AS/NZS 3838 2003 onwards. The most recent updates to the list are the addition of SNELL E2016 and EN1384 (2017); the newest version of the SNELL Standard could have begun to appear in 2017 and is accepted to the list; the newest version of the EN1384 Standard will begin to appear during 2018 and is also accepted to the list.

Class: 300 GFS Saddles Senior Newcomers Championships - First Round/ 1.10m Open

Description:

Rule 312. Table A7. Speed 325mpm. Start Height 1.10m.
Newcomers:
(a) For registered horses in Grade C that have not won a total of 375 points. Four double clears will qualify - in accordance with rule 312.6(b)
(b) For all horses born on or after 1st January 2020, irrespective of Points. Horses will only be eligible for double clear qualification to Second Rounds if they reach the age of six years or under in the same calendar year as the Newcomers Final - in accordance with Rule 312.6.
Four double clears will qualify for the Senior Newcomers Second Rounds. Qualifying period: 1st May – 30th April (subject to revision) . If combined with an open: In the event of 30 or more starters the class will be split with two sets of prize money.
1.10m Open: For registered horses ridden by Adult, Associate or Junior Members.

Prizes: 1st - £200, 2nd - £150, 3rd - £100, 4th - £75, 5th - £65 and 6th - £25

Open to all registered horses to be ridden by Adult, Associate or Junior Members. Those riders not listed on the British Showjumping Gold League as of 31st March 2025 will be eligible to qualify for the National 1.15m Members Cup Final. Qualifies for: British Showjumping National Championships. Qualification period: 1st June-31st May.
Numbers to qualify: Two double clears (subject to revision). Qualification is horse/rider combination. Double clear qualifications will not be obtained from one round competitions (e.g. Table A4 or Table A (1 Round)).

Prizes: 1st - £500, 2nd - £400, 3rd - £300, 4th - £200, 5th - £100 and 6th - £30

Class: 302 Redpost Equestrian Senior Foxhunter - First Round / Senior 1.20m Open

Description:

Rule 310. Table A7. Speed 350mpm. Start Height 1.20m. Rule 76.6.
In the event of 30 or more starters the class will be split and two sets of prize money awarded. Horses (or ponies in pony competitions) may compete in one section only. In the event of insufficient entries lower prizes will be withheld.
Foxhunter:
(a) For registered horses in Grade C that have not won a total of 700 points. Four double clears will qualify - in accordance with rule 310.6
(b) For all registered horses born on or after 1 January 2019, irrespective of points. Horses will be eligible for double clear qualification to attend second rounds providing they reach the age of seven years or under in the same calendar year as the Foxhunter Final - in accordance with rule 310.6 Four double clears will qualify.
Four double clears will qualify for the Senior Foxhunter Second Rounds. Qualifying period: The Senior Foxhunter Second Round qualifying period for the 2023 second rounds is 1 May – 30 April (subject to revision).
Rule 102.16 British Showjumping hind boot rule for boots/leg protection applies in this class. Those horses that have qualified for the Senior Foxhunter Championship in 2026 are not eligible for qualification to the 2027 Championship. If combined with an open: In the event of 30 or more starters the class will be split with two sets of prize money.
1.20m Open: For registered horses ridden by Adult, Associate or Junior Members.

Prizes: 1st - £200, 2nd - £150, 3rd - £100, 4th - £75, 5th - £50 and 6th - £25
