Show Description

Please read the rules at the front of the schedule. Also:
i. All Entries in this section must have been bred by a member registered with the Breed Society.
ii. Please state number of pens required on your entry form. It would be appreciated if, where possible, sheep could be doubled up in pens.
iii. No sheep may be shown in more than one class, except a group class.
iv. Sheep may be shown to exhibitors’ preference, i.e., shorn or unshorn.
v. All sheep capable of being paraded will be required to do so, as directed by the stewards, in the parade. Stewards reserve the right to withdraw any animal not deemed safe to parade.
vi. The ages of all animals must be reckoned to 6th May 2024 unless otherwise stated.
vii. Date of birth of all livestock in the sheep classes must be stated on the entry form.
viii. Classes may be amalgamated if insufficient entries in any section of the schedule. Classes with 8 or more entries will have a 4th prize of £5.00.
ix. Straw will not be available on site. Please bring your own.
x. Tail docking – This should cover the vulva.
xi. For classes where a Sheep Breed Society Rosette is offered, registered flock owners are requested to include flock numbers on their entry forms.
IMPORTANT
Health Regulations - Scrapie Control:
Sheep exhibitors should note that no ewe which is pregnant or has lambed within 30 days of the Show can be allowed onto the showground. Exhibitors are required to make a declaration on the entry form.
Maedi Visna:
Separate lines for Scheme and Non-Scheme sheep will be operated in accordance with SAC regulations. Scheme sheep must be accompanied by a certificate stating the number and type of sheep and, in the case of accredited flocks, the flock registration number. These certificates must be presented to either the official veterinary officer or the Show Secretary or their nominee before the sheep are allowed into the separate accommodation for scheme sheep and photocopies must be sent in with the entry form.
