Notes to Pig Exhibitors
All pigs must remain for the duration of the entire show weekend.
1.Exhibitors should be satisfied in all cases that the correct and appropriate restraining method and
equipment, including bats and Boards, is provided for use by animal handlers.
2.Animals registered in a grading register of a herd book are not eligible for entry in Agricultural Show classes.
3.The ear number, registered name, herd book number and date of birth of each pig must be supplied for printing in the catalogue together with the name of the breeder in cases where the exhibitor is not also the breeder.

Entry and exit times
4.The pigs (records, identification & movement) order 1995: all pigs coming to the Show must be accompanied by a schedule 3 declaration, completed by the owner.
5.Arrival on Friday 20thth September from 8am until 8pm. Saturday arrival from 6am until 8am. Vehicles must be removed from the Society building area by 8:30am Saturday.

Departure of Livestock
6.Gates to allow loading will be opened after the end of show (5pm) Sunday.
7.Lorries/trailers will not be permitted to leave the Showground until Sunday 22 September 2024 at approximately 5.30pm unless by authorisation of a veterinary surgeon.
8.A plan is in place for the exit of all Livestock vehicles on the Sunday afternoon, this will entail letting vehicles out in batches, please follow the instructions of the stewards to allow a swift egress from the Showground. You may be exiting with public vehicles however Livestock will be given priority where possible.
9.Under no circumstances are Exhibitors allowed to walk their Livestock out of the Showground for loading. 10Competitors not complying with this rule will be disqualified.

Safety
11. Boars aged twelve months or more at the time of exhibition must have their tusks cut prior to the Show.
12. All boars must be shown by two competent adult handlers who are equipped with protective Boards.
13. The use of artificial colouring, whitening and/or powder on pigs as well as the removal or addition of spots by artificial means is prohibited (white wood flour is permitted).

Junior handlers
14. Junior handlers will be allowed to Show females only. An adult handler of the pig must accompany the junior handler to and from the pig housing and remain by the ringside during judging and presentations. When Showing in mixed classes and all inter-breed competitions the adult handler must remain in the ring with the junior handler during judging and presentations the onus is on the owners/exhibitors or guardians to ensure the safety of the junior handlers at all times.


Records, identification and movement of pigs to and from Shows
15. Exhibitors must ensure that they comply with the requirements of national legislation in force at the time of the Show. All pigs from Scotland must be accompanied by a schedule 3 declaration under article 9 of the pigs (records, identification and movement) order 1995 or an equivalent declaration from an EU member state in accordance with the appropriate trade directive in force at the time, including additional certification of freedom from Aujeszky’s disease. Pigs from Northern Ireland should be accompanied by certification provided by the department of agriculture for Northern Ireland, including additional certification of freedom from Aaujeszky’s disease. Any pigs that are sold or otherwise disposed of or are not returning to the premises of origin must be licensed from the Show under a schedule 7 license issued by diseases of animal’s inspector of the Warwickshire County council, who can be contacted via the pig steward. If pigs are to travel direct to another EU member state, certification in accordance with the appropriate trade directive in force at the time must be obtained from the divisional veterinary manager.

All pigs in champion of champions on Sunday must be entered in classes and the winner of their class
on the Saturday and must remain at the Show the whole weekend.

EAML2 electronic movement licensing
Old AML2 forms are no longer legal to report your pig movements before setting off for the Show you must pre-notify both the movements to and from the Show(s). You can do this:

If you think you might sell any pigs take copies of the Show sale form with you to the Show:
• You can get these online or from the EAML2 bureau service or the BPA
• fill in the Show sale form with the movement reference from your haulier summary and give it to the buyer
• make a note of the buyer’s CPH and address details
• When you get home confirm the sale online or to the bureau when you are confirming your own
return move.
Please bring a copy of your movement license to the Show to hand in to the steward.

Entry fee: £7.00
Pen/kit pen fee: £9.00
One vehicle pass per exhibitor, please specify on entry form if more required.
All class prize money will be paid by cash tickets or bacs payments send cash tickets into office by 31st October.

Wristbands and Vehicle Passes
2-day Livestock wristbands will be allocated on the following basis, please choose the option on the entry form if more are required.

Rosettes to 4th Places
All prize money will be paid by cash, collected at the cash point on the Showground, or return your
completed prize money vouchers to the Show Office by 31st October 2024 with bank details to be
paid direct to your bank.
