ATTENTION SHEEP EXHIBITORS

ENTRIES CLOSE FRIDAY 14th AUGUST 2026 - STRICTLY NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED

If you are intending to show livestock animals at less than 7-day intervals make sure that you have a Defra-approved isolation unit at home otherwise your farm will be subjected to the 6-day standstill.

All sheep must be accompanied by a lis-1 licence.

All livestock must leave home in a clean vehicle, if they are returning home in the same vehicle they do not need to clean and disinfect the vehicle on the show field, they must clean and disinfect the vehicle within 24 hours of returning home. No Exhibitor will be allowed more than 2 entries in any class.

PLEASE STATE YOUR MV ACCREDITATION ON THE ENTRY FORM.

Exhibitors should allow for traffic hold-ups. All sheep must be on the Show field by 9.00 a.m. All livestock exhibited in this section should enter the Showground through the Sheep Gate, after Gate A. Vehicles which in the stewards’ opinion are not clean enough will not be admitted to the Showground.

All classes are open unless otherwise stated.

All Ewes must have reared lambs this season.

Health and Safety Executive Warning to Sheep Exhibitors – Any products used for spray-treating fleece should be marketed as suitable for this purpose and appropriate precautions followed; any other product used for this practice must be assessed as required by the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 1988 and appropriate measures implemented to prevent or adequately control exposure to the product by exhibitors, judges, and the public.

09:45am - Sheep Judging begins in the Sheep Lines
02:00pm - Judging of Supreme Champion Sheep
Followed by presentation of trophies in Sheep Lines

1st £15; 2nd £12; 3rd £8 (unless otherwise stated)
Where there are more than 7 sheep shown in any class a 4th Prize of £5 will be awarded and, if over 9, a 5th Prize of £3 will be awarded.

Entry Fee is £3 per class except for Young Handler classes which are Free.
