Show Description

ATTENTION CATTLE EXHIBITORS

ENTRIES CLOSE FRIDAY 14th AUGUST 2026 - STRICTLY NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED

If you are intending to show livestock animals at less than 7-day intervals make sure that you have a Defra-approved isolation unit at home otherwise your farm will be subjected to the 6-day standstill.

All cattle must be accompanied by their passport.

All livestock must leave home in a clean vehicle, if they are returning home in the same vehicle they do not need to clean and disinfect the vehicle on the show field, they must clean and disinfect the vehicle within 24 hours of returning home. No Exhibitor will be allowed more than 2 entries in any class.

Exhibitors should allow for traffic hold-ups. All cattle must be on the Show field by 9.00 a.m. All livestock exhibited in this section should enter the Showground through the Sheep Gate, after Gate A. Vehicles which in the stewards’ opinion are not clean enough will not be admitted to the Showground.

Holding number for Kilnsey Show is 48/802/8000.

All Cattle in Local Classes must be Bred or Reared by the Exhibitor.

Cattle entered in In-calf Classes likely to calve before Show Day will be eligible for Newly Calven Classes, without pre-entry.

Class Numbers to be collected from Cattle Steward’s Tent.

All Cattle must bear correct class numbers before entering the Show Ring or they may be disqualified.

No Cattle will be accepted without correct ear numbers.

09:30am - Cattle judging begins in the Cattle Rings
02:00pm - Presentation of the Cattle Trophies

Ring 1: Dairy, Highland and Native Breeds
Ring 2: Commercial Beef, Limousin, British Blue and AONB

1st Prize, £50; 2nd, £30; 3rd, £20 (unless otherwise stated).

Where there are more than 5 cattle shown in any one class a 4th prize of £12 will be awarded and, if over 7, a 5th prize of £10 will be a warded. A 6th prize of £8 and a 7th prize of £6 can be awarded at the judge’s discretion.

Entry fee is £5 per class except for Young Handlers which is Free
