Description:

Open to all RoR and NR competition registered horses, 4yrs and over, mares and geldings, owned, produced and ridden by an Amateur. Riders must be 15 years or over on the 1st January of the calendar year holding the classes. Horses should be ridden in a snaffle, Pelham or simple double bridle with a plain cavesson noseband. Horses should be plaited.
The Series is open to AMATEUR riders only – those employed in racing will be allowed to compete. Class will be judged under ‘riding horse’ format without ‘type’ being taken into consideration.  Racing injuries and blemishes ARE IGNORED in this series. The Judge will not ride at the qualifiers but will ride in the Final. Competitors/handlers/grooms must wear a safety/kite mark hard hat with a chinstrap. The first three go forward to the final at the Hickstead Derby Meeting, June 2025. RoR rosettes 1st – 4th and a RoR branded prize to the winner to be redeemed from the RoR Office. The winner also qualifies for the Tattersalls RoR Amateur Ridden Show Series Special at the Jockey Club RoR National Championships at Aintree on 24th August 2024. A branded prize will be presented to the highest placed Veteran horse (15+) and qualification to the RoR Ridden Veteran Final also at Aintree on 24th August 2024. Prize to be redeemed from the RoR Office.

Class: 223a Tattersalls RoR OPEN Ridden Show Series Qualifier 2025

Description:

Thoroughbred mare or gelding, 4years old or over, any height. Riders must be 15 years or over on the 1st January 2024. Horses should be ridden in a snaffle, Pelham or simple double bridle with a plain cavasson noseband. Horses should be plaited. The first THREE go forward to the championship at Hickstead in June 2025. All entries MUST be competition registered with the RoR and include their competition registration number on entry form and have RACED in GB. All those entering horses and/or participating in the show agree to be bound by the Retraining of Racehorses Rules and Regulations from time to time in force’. Please be aware that the show will split the class on the horse’s last run in a race (NH or Flat) or will provide 2 ride judges should the entries exceed 20. Please mark your entry form accordingly. Competitors must wear a safety/kite mark hard hat with a chinstrap. Racing injuries and blemishes will NOT be ignored in this series

Description:

Horses do not need to be shod to compete in the RoR Open In-Hand class. Horses can be shown in a bitless/In-Hand Bridle. Blemishes caused through racing will be ignored.

Ridden by a child to have attained their 5th birthday on the 1st January in the current year and not to have attained 10th birthday by 1st January in the current year. Any suitable snaffle bridle. In Lead Rein WSP classes the judges will be looking for a pony suitable for a child to begin their future in Working Sports Pony Classes. Criteria The Leader must be 16 years old or over and my only lead one pony in a class. The rein MUST go directly from the bit to the rider's hand, with no extra aids or attachments to or on the saddle. The Lead Rein must be affixed to the noseband on which it must remain while the pony is in the ring. Whilst in the ring ponies must always be let by the Leader. The Leader should lead on the near side with the lead rein in the left hand. Riders - Hats in accordance with BSPS Rules, Tweed Jackets, beige or cream jodphurs, shirt, tie, boots and gloves. No buttonholes. Leaders - Country attire, Gentlemen Trilby Hats or Caps, Ladies modest hats. Qualifiers for London International Horse Show. The 1st placed pony will qualify from classes 257 and 258. Competitors do not need to be BSPS members to enter these classes, but must join within 7 days if they wish to take up qualification.

Class: 258 BSPS Heritage First Ridden Working Sports Pony

Description:

Mare or Gelding, 4 years and over, Mountain and Moorland registered ponies not exceeding 128cms. Ridden by a child to have attained their 6th birthday on the 1st January in the current year and not to have attained their 12th birthday by 1st January in the current year. Any suitable snaffle bridle. Ponies to be shown unplaited. In First Ridden WSP classes the judges will be looking for a pony suitable for a child to begin their future in Working Sports Pony Classes. Martingales are permitted - Riders - Hats in accordance with BSPS Rules, Tweed Jackets, beige or cream jodphurs, shirt, tie, boots and gloves. Body protectors are compulsory in this class. No buttonholes. Qualifiers for London International Horse Show. The 1st placed pony will qualify from classes 257 and 258. Competitors do not need to be BSPS members to enter these classes, but must join within 7 days if they wish to take up the qualification.
