PIGS & PIG YOUNG HANDLERS

Show Description

The system will need you to register, then you will need to complete 'My Details' - this is for the person making the entry; this is NOT necessarily the Owner.
We advise that initially you access and read the relevant schedule for your section, e.g, Pigs, Cattle, Sheep, Goats, Shoeing, etc. This will help you select the correct day/s and class/es etc. when you make your entries for our Show. To be eligible for reduced members' entry fees, stall fees, stable fees, pen fees, the OWNER is required to be a current member of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society. Just click 'Memberships' at the top of this page. Prices are as follows: Single - £71.50; Joint - £110. (Only Single and Joint or Life members benefit from the reduced fees although Junior and Intermediate members can upgrade their membership to take advantage of this benefit). If you have not already purchased membership for the current year and you wish to become a YAS member, please add membership to your cart, your fees will then be adjusted accordingly upon completion of this entry. Closing date for entries is Tuesday 6th June. The timetable is as follows:
Tuesday - Modern breeds: Duroc, Hampshire, Landrace, Large White, Pietrain, and Welsh, all of which will hold their breed classes on the Tuesday of Show.
Wednesday - Traditional Breeds: Berkshire, British Lop, British Saddleback, Gloucester Old Spot, Large Black, Middle White, Oxford, Sandy & Black, and Tamworth.
Thursday - Interbreed competitions, BPA Pig of the Year Qualifier and the Supreme Pig Championship, with the BPA Pig of the Year Final in the afternoon. The Young Handlers will be also be held on Thursday along with the BPA Pig of the Year Qualifier.
The Friday will see Butcher's Pig classes, Young Pig Interbreed, Pig Pairs and Groups competitions for the winners from the breed classes.
