NPS Scotland/Townhead Pet n Pony In-Hand M & M Championship - Classes 151-154.
Handlers of ponies in In Hand classes must be at least 7 years of age and those who are 14 years and under must wear a correctly secured skull caps/riding hat that meets the current standards. Handlers of stallions or colts must be 14 years old or over. Foals are not eligible. The Champion & Res. Champion will qualify for the Final at the Scone Palace International Horse Trials on Friday 22nd August 2025. Qualification may go to 3rd in the Championship (i.e.1st Reserve Champion) The owner of the pony does not have to be an NPS Scotland member for the pony to enter this competition, but the owner of the pony must be or become a member of NPS Scotland to enter the NPS Scotland Finals at Scone Palace.

This Section will take part in The Horse Trust's Healthiest Body Condition Awards. This important welfare initiative is designed to raise awareness of equine obesity. A representative of Eden Veterinary Practice will body condition score all the horses and ponies and award a special rosette to the exhibit with the healthiest equine body condition in the Class. This show is affiliated to the British Show Pony Society (BSPS) and all persons entering, competing, showing or otherwise taking part in BSPS classes, whether or not members of the BSPS, are subject to the rules of the BSPS including the disciplinary procedures and shall be deemed to have consented to the jurisdiction of the BSPS.

Body Protectors MUST be worn when jumping in any WHP and WH classes, including practice rings at B.S.P.S. affiliated shows. (Including Training Stakes). Riders must wear a body protector when working in (practice jumps) and the jumping phase in all B.S.P.S. organised and affiliated events. A British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) approved and appropriately labelled “Level 3 body protector” 2018 (Blue) shown on the label. BETA recommends body protectors are replaced at least every three to five years, after which the impact absorption properties of the foam may have started to decline. All types of Air Jackets are not allowed except with medical dispensation.

Correctly secured Skull Caps/Riding Hats Nos. PAS015 2011, VG1, (BS) EN1384 2023, ASTM F1163 2015 and 2023, SNELL E2016 and E2021 onwards, AS/NZS 3838 2006
onwards, MUST be worn by riders at all times when mounted. Hats should have a plain cover, either Black, Navy Blue, Brown, Grey or Green. Velvet covers are encouraged. The
B.S.P.S. encourages members to have their hats tagged through the B.S.P.S. scheme or via the Pony Club Scheme. Tagging indicates the hat meets the accepted standards, no check of
the fit or condition of the hat is implied. It is considered to be the responsibility of the members/guardians to ensure the hat complies with current standards and is tagged before
they compete. Members/guardians are responsible for ensuring the manufacturer’s guidelines with regard to fit and replacement are followed.

BSPS SCOTLAND TRAINING STAKES CHAMPIONSHIP
Classes 175-177 are qualifiers for these Championships. The final will be held at the BSPS Scotland Finale Show on Saturday 13th September.
BSPS Membership is not required for the qualifier or final.

Qualification: To qualify for the final you must place 1st at any qualifying show and must have a clear round. Qualification can pass down to 4th place as long as the combination has been clear. If a combination qualifies in all three height sections they will only be able to jump the two higher heights at the final.

This show is a qualifier for the 2025 West of Scotland Working Hunter Academy Extravaganza Show to be held at Morris Equestrian Centre on 20th September. The 1st and 2nd prize winners in each Class will qualify for the Extravaganza Training Stakes Championship. If already qualified then qualification will be passed down the line to clear rounds only.

Open to members and non-members, however NON MEMBERS to purchase Day Membership Show Card for this show. Day membership must be purchased from VHS head office at least 2 weeks in advance of the show, at a cost of £25.00. Payment by telephone and a Credit or Debit card is required. A day membership show card and age badge will be provided. Owners who are not competing are not required to be a member.

All competitors and grooms must adhere to VHS Rules in all circumstances. Failure to do so may result in immediate disqualification.
Members and Day members must carry their current VHS membership cards in the ring and produce these on request – no exceptions will be made. No card no entry or qualification.

VHS Supreme Final qualification. Competitors placed 1st and 2nd in each class will qualify directly for the corresponding class at the VHS Supreme Final, to be held at the National Veteran Championships. 29th August – 31st August 2025. For classes with fewer than 5 entries forward, Supreme Final qualifications will be awarded at the judge’s discretion and are not guaranteed.

VHS Regional Final qualification. All competitors placed 3rd - 4th in each class will qualify for the corresponding class at VHS Regional Finals.

VHS M&M Supreme Final qualification. This is only given at the judges discretion and will be to the highest placed M&M in each class to qualify for the VHS M&M Supreme Final at the National Veteran Championships. Show Card/Day Membership to be signed. Only open to registered M&M breeds.

Members and Day-members will have their showing card signed by the judge in the ring as proof of qualification. Day-members must become full VHS members within 21 days and exchange their day-showing card for a full showing card in order to validate their qualification for the Supreme or Regional Final qualification. Regional Finals are open to members only.

If the competitor has already qualified or does not wish to attend, they must refuse the qualification and pass it down the line on the day. Day members must become full VHS members in order to enter the Supreme Final.

Once you have a Supreme Qualification you must enter the Supreme Final within 21 days of gaining this qualification - NO LATE ENTRIES ACCEPTED.

All competitors are eligible to enter open classes at the National Veteran Championships, 29th August – 31st August 2025. No qualification or membership necessary. See VHS website for schedule. Entries on-line via the VHS website.

RETRAINING OF RACEHORSES
All those entering horses and/or participating in the show agree to be bound by the rules and regulations of the RoR as published on the website www.ror.org.uk and from time to time in force. All entries must have current RoR competition membership which can be obtained through the RoR website. Riders must be 15yrs old or over on 1st January of the Show year.
All competitors/handlers/grooms must wear a safety/kite mark hard hat with a chinstrap.

Class 200 is a Tattersalls RoR OPEN In Hand Showing Series Qualifier 2025
Open to all RoR and NR competition registered horses, 3yrs and over, fillies, mares and geldings.
Horses do not need to be shod to compete in the RoR Open In-Hand class. Horses can be shown in a bitless/In-Hand Bridle. Blemishes caused through racing will be ignored.
The first three go forward to the final at The Jockey Club RoR National Championships at Aintree, August 2025

Class 201 is a Tattersalls RoR Scottish Open Show Series Qualifier 2025
Horses should be ridden in a snaffle, pelham or simple double bridle with a plain cavesson noseband. Horses should be plaited.
All entries MUST have current RoR competition registration and have RACED in GB. There will be a prize for the highest placed veteran 15 years or over. The class will be run under the rules of RoR. Horses to be ridden by the judge. Racing injuries and blemishes will NOT be ignored in this series.
The first three go forward to the Series Final at the Royal Highland Show June 2026. In the event that the first three are already qualified, the qualification will go down the line to fourth. The winner also qualifies for the Tattersalls RoR Open Ridden Show Series Special at the Jockey Club RoR National Championships on 23rd August 2025.
The highest placed Veteran qualifies for the RoR Veteran Final on the same day.

Class 202 is a Tattersalls RoR Amateur Ridden Show Series Qualifier 2025
Open to all RoR and NR competition registered horses, 4yrs and over, mares and geldings, owned, produced and ridden by an Amateur. Horses should be ridden in a snaffle, Pelham or simple double bridle with a plain cavesson noseband. Horses should be plaited. Racing injuries and blemishes ARE IGNORED in this series.
The Series is open to AMATEUR riders only – those employed in racing will be allowed to compete. Class will be judged under ‘riding horse’ format without ‘type’ being taken into consideration. The Judge will not ride in the qualifiers but will ride in the Final.
The first three go forward to the final at the Hickstead Derby Meeting, June 22nd, 2025.
The winner also qualifies for the Tattersalls RoR Amateur Ridden Special at the Jockey Club RoR National Championships on August 23rd, 2025. Highest Placed Veteran qualifies for the RoR Ridden Veteran Final on August 23rd 2025

Amateur definition:
The rules are as in the rulebook with the following addition that an amateur may not show a horse owned or sponsored by a company or commercial firm. In addition, a person classed as amateur must not be supported by a company in any way or act as brand ambassador whether financially or in-kind. An amateur is a person who for the purpose of RoR classes does not/has not during the current season or previous season:
Engage(d) in breeding, livery, buying or selling, dealing or hiring horses in a commercial capacity. Horses must not have been stabled at or reside in a Professional Producer's/Trainer's yard from January 1st 2024. Riders must not have ridden any animals produced by a Professional/Trainer in the current or previous season. Horses and riders must not receive any help from a Professional Producer/Trainer at a SHOW in the current season. A rider who has ridden for a Professional/Producer Trainer in the current or previous season must not have ridden horses at a show. Any breaches of this ruling will be taken seriously and will result in disqualification from future classes.

BHS SCOTLAND WORKING HUNTER SERIES 2025
Class 212 is a qualifier. The first THREE qualify for the final, to be held at the Scone Palace International Horse Trials on Thursday 21st August 2025, even if they did not jump clear. If one of the first 3 has already qualified, the qualification can be passed down to 4th place provided the 4th placed rider jumped clear. Run under the rules of Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain. Please note Rule 51h - All Ridden Hunters must be shod all round. No pads or surgical shoes are allowed. 51i - No hind boots or bandages of any description are allowed in the collecting ring, warm up or in the actual class in Working Hunter and Ridden Sport Horse classes. 51j - The Society discourages the showing of over fat horses and Judges will take this into consideration when making their awards. Maximum height of jumps - 3ft 6ins; maximum spread - 3ft 9ins.
