Description:

JARS & BOTTLES TO BE LABELLED WITH NAME, DATE & YEAR OF PRESERVE.
ATTACH EXHIBITOR LABEL WITH RUBBER BAND.

PRESERVING HINT:
Preserves should be filled well allowing only a small air space. Wax disc placed while still warm. Cellophane covers to be taut. Chutneys to be made at least three months ahead of judging and should be fitted with a candle or beeswax disc and covered with cellophane or vinegar proof lid. Dressings should also have a vinegar proof lid. Should not be displayed on disposable plates.

Description:

1. Jars used in all classes will be B.S.I. specification 1lb. squat with commercial lids.
2. All honey and wax exhibited must be the bona fide produce of the exhibitor’s own bees.
3. All beeswax may be displayed in show boxes.
4. All frames of honey (Class 68) shall be submitted in a display box which shall be sealed to prevent access by bees. Attending members shall refuse to accept any entries in Class 68 that are not fully bee tight. Entries shall be resealed after inspection by honey judge.

Section 13 - Local Clubs, Organisations & Groups

Description:

ADDITIONAL RULES FOR SECTION 13:
1. Open to all local clubs, organisations, and Groups.
FOR CLASS 199 ONLY - Please state average age of group on entry form. Age of group will be taken into consideration when judging.
2. Each entry will embrace six articles all of which have been worked since 5th August 2025.
3. Not more than two articles may be the work of any one member.
4. No article shown under an Individual’s name in the Open Classes is eligible to compete in the Competition, but any article shown in this competition may be used as an individual entry at one later Show.
5. The articles will be shown as one exhibit in the name of the Club making the entry on a table space no greater than 120cm x 120cm. Accessories, props, and base cloth can be used to display the articles in the competition. A maximum 10 points will be awarded for each article plus 10 points for display, maximum total 70 points.
6. The exhibit can be staged in the Industrial Section of the Marquee from 6-8pm on Saturday 1st August 2026 and from 7.00-9.30am on Sunday 2nd August 2026.
7. One leader & not more than two members of the group are permitted to set up the exhibit.
8. AN A6 POSTCARD WITH A NOTE OF THE ARTICLES TO BE JUDGED MUST BE ENCLOSED WITH THE EXHIBIT.

Section 15 - S.W.I. Co-operative

Description:

ADDITIONAL RULES FOR SECTION 15:
1. No Institute may make more than one entry.
2. Each entry will embrace eight articles all of which have been worked since 5th August 2025.
3. Not more than two articles in one entry may be the work of any one member.
4. No article shown under an Individual’s name in the Open Classes is eligible to compete in the Competition, but any article shown in this Competition may be used as an individual entry at one later Show.
5. The articles will be staged as one exhibit in the name of the Institute making the entry 1.2 metres length x 0.9 metres depth will be available as table space and a solid background 0.68 metres in height will be provided. Points will be deducted if these dimensions are exceeded. Accessories and props can be used to display the articles in the competition. A base cloth and drapes may be used. A maximum 10 points will be awarded for each article plus 10 points for display, maximum total 90 points.
6. The Co-operative exhibit can be staged in the Industrial Section of the Marquee from 6-8 pm on Saturday 1st August 2026 and from 7.00-9.30 am on Sunday 2nd August 2026.
7. Not more than three members are permitted to set up the exhibit and the same members are allowed to re-set the exhibit immediately after the judging is complete.
8. AN A6 POSTCARD WITH A NOTE OF THE ARTICLES TO BE JUDGED MUST BE ENCLOSED WITH THE EXHIBIT.

4. Not more than two articles in one entry may be the work of any one member.

Description:

Classes 251-257: Open to all.
Classes 258-259: For Novices and Exhibitors who have never won a 1st prize in the Novice Section.
Class 260: Open to young adults (aged from 12 years up to & including 25 years of age) on 2nd August 2026.
Class 261: Open to children aged 11 and under on 2nd August 2026.

Exhibit
Is composed of natural plant material in all its forms, with or without accessories, contained within a space as specified in a show schedule. Backgrounds, bases, containers, drapes, exhibit titles and mechanics may also be included in an exhibit, unless otherwise stated. More than one placement may be included, unless otherwise stated. In all exhibits natural plant material must be predominant.

Accessories
Anything other than natural plant material in an exhibit such as feathers, shapes [e.g. spheres, cones) shells, stones, wax candles. Should be in pristine condition. Be in harmony with the rest of the exhibit. Make a valid contribution to the interpretation of the class title and the design. Be in scale with all the other components in the exhibit and with each other. Be well incorporated and not predominate over the plant material.

ADDITIONAL RULES FOR SECTION 19:
1. Exhibits can be staged in the Industrial Section of the Marquee from 5pm on Saturday 1st to 9.30am on Sunday 2nd August 2026.
2. All Flower Arrangement entries must be made on the Entry Schedule, signed by the intending Exhibitor and returned to the show office not later than Saturday 18th July 2026.
