Show Description

RULES

1. The Industrial Competition is open to all.
2. Exhibits must be the bona fide work of the Exhibitor in whose name the entry is made and must have been worked since 5TH AUGUST 2025. The only exception is for any individual item previously entered in the Co-operative classes in 2025 (Sections 13, 15 & 16).
3. Exhibitors may enter only one exhibit in any class, except in the Shepherd’s Crooks & Walking Sticks section, where two entries per class are allowed.
4. All Entries must be made online at www.turriffshow.org or on the enclosed Entry Form. ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE CLOSING DATE OF SATURDAY 11TH JULY 2026.

5. All Exhibits must be delivered to the Industrial Committee within the Industrial Marquee in the Showfield from 7.00 a.m. until 9.30 a.m. on SUNDAY 2nd AUGUST 2026. Where Exhibitors find it impossible to deliver Exhibits personally, such Exhibits will be carefully attended to if forwarded to the Association to be in their hands not later than 5 p.m. on SATURDAY 1st AUGUST 2026.
6. While every care will be taken of Exhibits, such shall be entirely at the Exhibitor’s own risk. The Association shall not be liable for any loss or damage Exhibits may sustain at the Show or in transit.
7. Judging shall commence at 10.00 a.m. on SUNDAY 2nd AUGUST 2026.
8. Exhibits shall be removed between 5.00 p.m. and 5.45 p.m. on MONDAY 3rd AUGUST 2026. WE WILL NOT ALLOW VEHICLE ACCESS FOR COLLECTION OF EXHIBITS BEFORE 5PM ON MONDAY 3RD AUGUST 2026 IN THE INTEREST OF HEALTH AND SAFETY.
9. Any food items which have not been collected will be disposed of at 5.45pm.
10. In Points Competition a First Prize shall be awarded 4 Points; a Second Prize, 3 Points; a Third Prize, 2 Points; and a Fourth Prize, 1 Point.
11. Judges have the right to turn out contents of Jars, Bottles or other Containers, and to cut or break cakes, etc.
12. In the interest of food hygiene, it is recommended that all food items exposed to the open air be discarded after the show in waste bags provided by the Association.
13. FOR SECTIONS 13, 15 & 16
IN THE EVENT THAT MORE THAN ONE ITEM RECEIVES 10 POINTS, THE JUDGES WILL SELECT THE WINNER OF THE TROPHY FOR THE OUTSTANDING EXHIBITS AND THIS WILL BE INDICATED ON THE SCORE CARD WITH A GOLD STAR.
14. No Challenge of Entries, Classification of Exhibits, Awards of the Judges, or any other procedure shall be competent after 1 p.m. of the second day of the Show, and all Challenges, must be lodged with the Secretary in writing before that time along with £25 which shall be forfeited to the Association should it be the opinion of the Committee of Management that the protest was raised on unreasonable grounds. The Committee shall have the power to settle all disputed questions connected with the Exhibition, and against their decision there shall be no appeal.
15. Prize Money will be paid by Bank Transfer NO LATER THAN 1ST OCTOBER 2026. In the event of bank details not being provided to the Association prize money will be retained as a donation.
16. Fifth and Sixth prize cards may be awarded but with no points or money value.
