1. The Horticultural Competition is open to all, with the exception of those classes specified within the schedule.
2. There are no class entry fees for the Horticultural Competition. Entry into this Competition does not allow admission into the Show.
3. Flower vases are provided free of charge by the Association. Vases must not be removed from the Marquee.
4. Exhibitors are not permitted to enter exhibits which have not been in their possession for 2 months prior to the date of the Show. We cannot accept entries from two different individuals from the same garden in the same class.
5. Exhibits MUST be presented within the Horticultural Section Marquee in the Show field between 7pm on SATURDAY 1st and no later than 9.45am on SUNDAY 2nd AUGUST 2026, by which time all staging MUST be completed. NO PRELIMINARY ENTRY IS NECESSARY.
6. Exhibitors must attach securely to each exhibit a small, sealed envelope
PLEASE MARK THE ENVELOPE CLEARLY with the following information:
*FRONT OF ENVELOPE write CLASS NUMBER and DESCRIPTION OF THE EXHIBIT
e.g. “Class 10, 1 Petunia double”
FOR CHILDREN’S SECTION CLASSES - please state child’s age.
*REAR OF ENVELOPE CONFIRM IF YOU DO NOT INTEND TO COLLECT YOUR EXHIBIT ON MONDAY AT THE CLOSE OF THE SHOW
IF ARRANGEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE FOR SOMEONE TO COLLECT YOUR EXHIBIT, CERTIFICATES OR ROSETTES PLEASE CONFIRM THEIR NAME
*INSIDE ENVELOPE PLEASE INCLUDE A CARD or use the form provided (on back page) with the following information:
• NAME
• ADDRESS
• POSTCODE
• TELEPHONE NUMBER
• BANK DETAILS (for payment of prize money) Account Name, Account Number and Sort Code
7. DO NOT MOVE EXHIBITS BELONGING TO ANOTHER EXHIBITOR
The arrangement of Exhibits on tables shall be wholly under control of THE HORTICULTURAL COMMITTEE who are appointed by the Association.
8. While every care will be taken of Exhibits, such shall be entirely at the Exhibitors’ own risk. Exhibitors will be solely responsible for delivery and removal of their own Exhibits. The Association shall not be liable for any loss or damage which Exhibits may sustain at the show or in transit.
9. Judging shall commence at 10.15am on SUNDAY 2nd AUGUST 2026.
10. Exhibits must only be removed between 5.00pm & 6.00pm on MONDAY 3rd AUGUST 2026.
WE WILL NOT ALLOW VEHICLE ACCESS FOR COLLECTON OF EXHIBITS BEFORE 5.00PM ON MONDAY 3rd AUGUST 2026 IN THE INTEREST OF HEALTH AND SAFETY.
11. An Exhibitor may show a maximum of two entries per class.
12. In Points Competition a First Prize shall be awarded 3 Points; a Second Prize, 2 Points; and a Third Prize, 1 Point.
13. No Challenge of Entries, Classification of Exhibits, Awards of the Judges, or any other procedure shall be competent after 1 p.m. of the second day of the Show, and all Challenges, must be lodged with the Secretary in writing before that time along with £25 which shall be forfeited to the Association should it be the opinion of the Committee of Management that the protest was raised on unreasonable grounds. The Committee shall have the power to settle all disputed questions connected with the Exhibition, and against their decision there shall be no appeal.
14. Prize Money will be paid by Bank Transfer NO LATER THAN 1ST OCTOBER 2026. In the event of bank details not being provided to the Association prize money will be retained as a donation.
