DRIVING COMPETITION FOR HORSES & PONIES

ENTRIES CLOSE: SATURDAY 26TH JUNE 2026

1. 1.15pm Open Private Driving Class
For horses, ponies & donkeys, 4 years old or over, driven to a traditional or traditional type vehicle. Open to Singles, Pairs or Tandems.
Prizes: 1st £50 & Sandy Rayne Memorial Trophy presented by Miss Mary Rayne, Aberdeen; 2nd £40; 3rd £30; 4th £20; 5th £10

Assemble in Paddock at 12.45 p.m.

2. 1.45pm Exercise Vehicle
Singles, Pairs or Tandems horses, ponies & donkeys 4 years old or over, open to all showing competitors, driving a non-traditional vehicle. Pneumatic tyres specifically designed for carriages (i.e. not car tyres) are allowed.

Lamps need not be carried. Judging will include general cleanliness, safety of turnout, correct fitting of harness and vehicle suitability. Points are awarded for the highest placed turnouts driven by a BDS member and count towards the Chairman’s Cup.
