TRAINING STAKES

These classes are designed to encourage the horse/pony/rider to perform stylishly.

Open to horses and ponies, mares, geldings and stallions, 4 years old and over, in possession of an equine passport but no specific registration or breed society criteria (part-bred and cross-bred may enter). Riders may only ride one animal in each class. A horse/pony may only enter one class. Rider may be any age, except for stallions (see Rule J.5).

RELAXED COMBINED TRAINING

A new class, similar to BD Combined Training but less formal, to encourage competitors to try a dressage test and jump a course of mixed style jumps. Formal dress is not required. Conformation and type will not be judged.

EVENTERS TEAM CHALLENGE

Open to horses and ponies, 4 years old and over, to be shown in any suitable bridle. Riders may only ride one horse/pony. Riders any age, except stallions (see Rule J.5).

This is a team event over a mixture of rustic and show jumps, against the clock. Following the timed section will be a Joker fence, which will give a time bonus (deduction) of 5 seconds if cleared successfully. The 3 members of a team will jump one after another, and the individual times and penalties will be added together to decide the result.

The Heavy Horse In Hand Championship and Heavy Horse In Show Harness Class are Qualifiers for the West of England Heavy Horse Championships on Sunday 25th September 2022.

All classes are open to any Heavy Horse Breed.

A Carters prize of £5 will be awarded for every horse which, in the opinion of the judge, is turned out to a sufficiently high standard.
Note: All exhibits in the Heavy Horse classes must parade in Ring 1 at 15:45 to qualify for the traveling grant of £40 per individual horse attending the Show, which will be sent after the Show.

This is a Champion Donkey Status Show for 2022 and is affiliated to the Donkey Breed Society whose Rules apply.

Note: All entire male donkeys must be shown in a bridle with a leading rein correctly attached to the bit, and must be led by an adult attendant. For long reining, donkeys must wear a bit or bridle (open or blinkered), a driving pad or saddle with long reins. Whips are to be carried but overuse will be penalised.
