This is an informal, fun, show where help and advice will be given. Habits need not be worn in
classes 1 and 2, but smart competition dress code should be used where habits are not worn.
Horses/ponies may be shared in classes 1 & 2. All classes are open to all, you do not need to be
a member.
Safety hats to current safety standards as defined in Rules 11 and 12 below must be worn
whilst mounted by all Junior competitors at all times and by any Adult competitor in Classes
1 & 2. For all other classes see Rule 12 (Adults) below.
Novice Walk & Trot Aimed at absolute novice riders, lead rein riders, and/or horses new to side saddle. Honesty is
appreciated in the spirit of a novice show. Riders may choose to show canter in their individual

exhibit registered with CHAPS at the time of qualification, but in order to compete at the
Championships, the Rider/Owner must be a showing member and their horse/pony registered with
CHAPS before entering the final. Lead Rein competitors are eligible for this class. Leaders must
be correctly dressed.

Concours d’Elegance
First, second and third placed horses/ponies not already qualified in eligible classes will qualify for
the Champion of Britain Title class to be held at Arena UK, Grantham on Sunday 5th September
2021. If a horse/pony has already qualified, cards may be handed down to 6th place at judge’s
discretion. Each qualified horse/pony will receive a qualification card in the ring which will enable
the owner to enter the Championship Show, provided the owner and rider/handler are, or become
registered with the Concours d’Elegance Society within 21 days of the qualifying show. No horse
